Gymnastics Posts Program – Record Team Vault Score
PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers Gymnastics continues to rewrite the record books, recording another Top 10 program score in its triple encounter at Jersey Mike’s Arena on Friday night. The Scarlet Knights posted a 195.675, the ninth-highest overall score and fourth-highest home score in Rutgers history.
RU finished second in the competition, beating the University of Alaska (191.825). 1 Michigan, the defending NCAA champion, took first place with a 198.525.
Diploma Beautiful Huang placed second on floor, recording a career-high 9.975. Junior Hannah Joyner finished third on beam with a career-best 9.900 and in all-around with a 39.325. Joyner also contributed a 9.950 on the ground.

The Scarlet Knights set a new team standard on vault, recording a program-best total of 49.275 in the event. Huang led the way with a career-high 9.900, marking the third event where she has eclipsed a 9.9 or higher in her career. Senior Mia Betancourt followed with his own career best of 9.875, setting a new personal best for the second time this year.
Second year Emily Leese added a 9.850, while a freshman Isabelle Hughes and Joyner both recorded a 9.825. This marked a new personal best for Hughes in the event. The total of 49.275 surpassed the previous best schedule of 49.225 set in February 2020.

Rutgers also recorded the team’s second best floor score, posting a total of 49.350 in the event. Huang led the way with a career-high 9.975, the second-highest individual score in the program. Joyner followed with a career-high 9.950, having hit 9.950 on floor and beam during her career.
Second year Emily Wood clocked a personal best 9.850 with her routine, while Leese tied her career best with a 9.850 as well. Second year students Calah Newman and Avery Balser each posted a 9.725 in the event to round out the lineup. The team’s score surpassed the third best score of 49.325 set in 2014, and just shy of the program record of 49.375 set in 2015.

Rutgers return to Jersey Mike’s Arena for a quadruple meeting on Friday, February 11. The triple meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET and will feature Iowa, Ursinus and Kent State.
