Floy Gilman Scheidler Scholarship Application Available – Cloquet Pine Journal

CLOQUET – Scholarship applications are available from the Floy Gilman Scheidler Scholarship Foundation for 2022-2023, according to a press release.

The post-secondary scholarships of $3,000 per year will be awarded in May and are renewable for three years for a total of $12,000, the statement said.

Application forms are available at Carlton County High School Counselor offices, area college and university financial offices, AEOA Classroom at Cloquet, and Ameriprise Financial, 922 Hwy 33 South, Cloquet.

Complete applications must be submitted before April 1st.

Applicants must be in the top 50% of a graduating class from Carlton County High School and have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Current students who reside in Carlton County, who graduated from a Carlton County high school, and individuals who have earned a GED are also eligible to apply.

In addition to academic achievement, applicants must show participation in non-academic activities such as extracurricular activities, community volunteer work, and/or employment. Financial need is a consideration.

The Floy Gilman Scheidler Scholarship was established in 1999 by former Esko High School English teacher Floy Bud Dickison and former Cloquet High School business teacher Ona Maurita Scheidler in memory of their mother.
