Ututo is a Linux distribution which is composed entirely of free software. It is one of the handful of distrobutions which are formally endorsed by Richard Stallman. Ututo can be run from a LiveCD environment. The first version was released in October 2000 by Diego Saravia at the University of Salta in Argentina. Ututo-R, a software router modification to Ututo, was installed on educational and government computers in Buenos Aires. Ututo-e ('e' for escritorio) is a desktop release which was launched in 2004.

The Ututo Team is working on a FreeBSD distro which is expected to be the first FreeBSD distro which is certified as entirely open source.
